Programista farsthary od pewnego czasu zajmuje się implementacją prawdziwej volumetryczności w Blenderze. Od niedawna pomaga mu w tym dobrze znany użytkownikom Blendera programista Matt Ebb. Jak się okazało niezależnie od siebie zaczęli prace nad mappingiem fotonowym (ang. photon mapping).
