People Can Fly Posted August 7, 2015 Share Posted August 7, 2015 People Can Fly is searching for an experienced Character Artist to help drive the quality and style of our in-game characters. In this role you’ll create top-quality heroes and monsters for use in gameplay, cinematics, and even our marketing material. RESPONSIBILITIES We recognize that every Character Artist has his/her own pipelines and workflows based on his/her own experience and skillset. The following examples are typical of a Character Artist at People Can Fly. Create characters, enemies, and weapons based on concept art or reference photos. Create highpoly geo in Maya/Max/Modo Create game res LP models Sculpt detail and modelling in ZBrush Creating textures, using photo source, or painting by-hand Tune (or create) surface shaders for in-game characters Work with Animators to ensure the character can be rigged and animated properly Work with Lead Artists and Concept Artists to set the visual style and quality bar Develop new techniques that push the quality and performances we can achieve QUALIFICATIONS Ability to create believable characters that are full of life and personality. Ability to create highpoly and lowpoly models as well as textures. The ability to adapt to, and innovate, new styles and techniques Strong organic modeling skills (human faces, clothing, believable creatures.) Strong hard-surface modeling skills (armor, weapons) Shipped game title experience Very good knowledge of major 3D software packages (Maya, Max, or Modo, and ZBrush.) Experience with the following is a plus: Creating surfaces shaders, rigging, animation, character concept art, and using the Unreal Engine Position type: full-time in Warsaw The offer shall be sent to [email protected].
