Napisano 27 Marzec 201411 l The main task was to create a photo-realistic environments and lighting. The mill was taken from photo references, but towards the end the end became less similar to the original. Grass, flowers, birds and insects are taken from libraries. In this work I wanted to convey the atmosphere of the sun and the greens of early summer afternoon. Then I decided to make a version of the autumn scene... Napisano 27 Marzec 201411 l Hi there, autumn version looks much better probably because of more random leafs on the trees. However dry wood is more appropriate in summer I think. Fall version could have more vintage wooden elements. Nevertheless grass looks fantastic (from library, but seeded well) and overall look is great. Have you got interior images as well?
Napisano 28 Marzec 201411 l autumn version looks more realistic for me, additionaly it has a bit dark climat, which i like
Napisano 28 Marzec 201411 l I mean interior view. The mill looks very natural so I was wondering if you have stairs, ladders or some floors inside.
Napisano 28 Marzec 201411 l Autor olaf, oh sorry) sorry for my English)))) Yes, interiors was my first 3D works http://vadym-sensorium.daportfolio.com/gallery/845806 Or you mean interior in to mill???
Napisano 29 Marzec 201411 l The autumn render is better, but I think this is all about post-processing you did with this picture. Everyting is nicely blended in, I mean tree, grass and of course mill, shadows are so soft which is great, because give more realistic look. Could you give us some tips how you did post-processing work with autumn picture? I would love to learn from you! :)
Napisano 29 Marzec 201411 l Autor Thanks for the nice comments!) Autumn mill is not post-processing) It's other independent scene on the basis of independent geometry of the firts. Post-processing for the two pictures was only light color correction and adding fog in autumn picture from Z-channel. Basic color scheme I tried to get after rendering. When I creating an autumn mill I removed the flowers, a part leaves on the trees, deleted sun too, replace the texture of plants and environment map of the sky. That's all) In attachment you can see raw image of autumn mill immediately after rendering, without post-processing
Napisano 29 Marzec 201411 l So the fog makes this picture much softer, difference is huge, all hard shadows are gone. I would like to learn more about this technique, maybe you know tutorial for it?
Napisano 29 Marzec 201411 l Autor 2013, of course) In this picture the fog is composed of 3 layers. All are from the same Z-channel. The first layer - light soft barely - prominent fog. It evenly spreads through the entire distance of the picture - from the closest to the most distant objects . Then I decided to add more fog in the trees. To do this I create a second layer of fog , only made him stronger and made it so that it covers only the background trees. And the third layer I wanted to blur the sky so that the clouds was not visible. This layer is very hard , but it acts only on the far distance - tree therefore covers only the sky.
