As a student, I originally stumbled across Luxology modo 401 here on this site. Fell in love with the software for it's ease of use and easy licensing, but more for the amazing community lead by Brad Peebler. As soon as I was able to, I started buying modo to support Brad and the team behind modo. There was a lot of fear when The Foundry bought Luxology in 2012, but Brad and most of the core team stayed on to continue to shape and develop an amazing piece of software. I even ventured into paying for The Foundry's other software, but found their licensing philosophy a serious pain in the butt. Now that Brad is leaving I fear that The Foundry's philosophy will negatively creep into MODO and I find myself considering returning to this site, as I'm decreasingly keen on supporting another faceless corporation that punishes paid clients with productivity-killing licensing practices.
