Shading artist paints textures from scratch and by utilizing photography and pre-existing textures. Creates multiple texture map layers, shaders and materials to create the desired look for characters and props that may reflect any of a wide variety of styles. Work closely with other Shading Artists developing style and look by the guidelines defined by the CG Supervisors and Shading Lead. REQUIRED SKILLS - a minimum 5 year experience in character surfacing, texure painting or look development, - extensive knowledge of Maya is a must, - strong shading skills, extensive experience with Arnold, but Renderman, Vray or other rendering software also applicable, - a working knowledge of Photoshop and Mari, - clear understanding of UV’s, - a good eye for color and detail as it relates to organic models.
